Ein aufgelassenes Fabriksgelände in der Nähe von Peoria (IL). Ein paar Kilometer weiter die Statue einer Bikini – Dame aus den “Fünfzigern” (oder “Sechzigern”) an einer Kreuzung. Sie war die Werbung für das Geschäft nebenan, das längst nicht mehr existiert. Ein “memorial” heute sozusagen. Eines, das man selten findet.

A factory, closed many years ago and waiting to finally fall apart. A few miles further into Peoria (IL) the statue of a woman welcomes you. She is all that is left from an abandoned factory building next to this intersection, her outfit now a huge contrast to the area around her. I could never quite figure out wether she is smiling or not .
