Zwei Welten nebeneinander – suburbs and a castle

A Christmas market at Favoritenstrasse. Favoriten is a very diverse district and the Christmas Market in the pedestrian zone offers goods in a weird mixture of practically everything. Worth seeing in? Probably not. Quellenstrasse takes you to the Ankerbrotfabrik, a former bread factory turned into an art center. Unattractive houses predominate in the area, standing in sharp contrast to a few housing complexes from the 1920s with gorgeous courtyards.
“Sonnwendviertel” is a newly erected housing area adjacent to the newly built main railway station. The area surrounding it is not very attractive, the fence of a construction site at least creating an illusion of green and blooming trees among all the concrete.
The Belvedere on the opposite side seems to be from another world almost, there could not be more of a contrast. Inside the Belvedere is a little Christmas Market as well, almost inevitable these days in Vienna.
